Galaxy phones come with all kinds of apps you may never open, so it’s surprising when some of the genuinely useful Samsung apps are left out. And if there’s one app I feel should come pre-installed on all Samsung phones, it’s Galaxy Enhance-X.
Editing photos is something that most of us do. Galaxy Enhance-X is a free, AI-powered image editor that makes fixing photos much quicker. You can use it to improve lighting, remove blur, enhance details, and even fix camera angles. It takes what would normally take minutes and turns it into a one-tap process.

Galaxy Enhance-X lets you transform your photos with a tap
It’s all AI magic
Galaxy phones already have a built-in photo editor inside the Gallery app, and honestly, it works great. You can crop, tweak colors, adjust lighting, and do a lot more to make your shots look better in minutes.
Samsung’s Galaxy Enhance-X is different. It’s a dedicated photo editor that’s completely powered by AI. This means you can apply your favorite edits without the usual hassle of fine-tuning everything manually. The app does most of the work for you.
Its standout feature is the Magic edit, which can fix everything that’s wrong with your image with a tap. That could mean improving lighting, sharpening details, removing unwanted lens blur, or even getting rid of reflections.
What really separates this app from the Gallery apps’ built-in editor is the ease of use. If you love taking photos but don’t like spending time editing them, this app feels like a no-brainer.
Add portrait effect, HDR, and face effects
It’s as easy as it gets
Galaxy Enhance-X’s Magic edit does a great job of improving photos on its own, but sometimes, it can end up fixing the wrong things. And if that happens, you can take control and apply specific edits manually.
For instance, if you’ve taken a photo of yourself or a friend and want to apply the portrait effect, the app can automatically detect faces and blur the background. Once it does, you’ll see a side-by-side comparison with a slider. You can then adjust the blur strength however you like and hit Done to save changes.
Similarly, if you’ve taken a photo where the sky looks dull or the subject looks too dark, Galaxy Enhance-X’s auto-HDR can step in. It can automatically balance highlights and shadows, so your photo looks more vibrant. Again, you’ll get a slider to control the HDR strength.
The built-in face effects are handy too. With them, you can fix face tone, smoothness, and even tweak the jawline. It’s all too easy to do. And if all you want is a quick brightness boost, there’s even an option for that in the Color tone section.
Fix reflections, blur, and camera angles instantly
Rescue your bad shots
Even in ideal lighting conditions, a photo can sometimes get ruined by unwanted reflection or harsh shadow. It’s quite common when you’re taking photos outdoors or under direct sunlight. Galaxy Enhance-X can fix those imperfections in seconds.
Blur is another common problem in photos, especially in low light or when your subject moves. The app can fix that too. The same goes for noise, haze, and even moire patterns. All you need to do is head to the Quick fixes tab and choose the relevant option. My favorite option, though, is Increase Resolution. If you’ve got a photo captured in lower resolution, this option can use AI to upscale it.
Galaxy Enhance-X also has a couple of extra features you need to download separately. One of them is Camera Shift. It uses AI to subtly adjust the camera angle to make the subject look taller or shorter. It makes it look like the photo was taken from a different angle than it originally was.
It’s not just for photos
Turn videos into magic

Galaxy Enhance-X can handle videos too. While it doesn’t offer as many options as it does for photos, it’s still handy.
Its Single take option, for instance, can analyze your clip and automatically create a few variations. It can extract a cropped shot, filtered picture, a rebound clip, and even a highlight video. All with a single tap. You can then save the item you want and discard the rest. There’s also the Highlight best moment option, which automatically shows the most interesting part of your video.
The Long exposure option adds a creative twist. As the name suggests, it can simulate that smooth motion blur effect you get from professional cameras. All in all, Galaxy Enhance-X is not a full-blown video editor, but you can get a few fun clips with almost no effort.
Galaxy phones often get credit for their hardware and One UI. But Samsung also makes some genuinely useful apps you don’t get in other phones. I don’t know about you, but apps like Galaxy Enhance-X are the reason I don’t even consider switching to another Android phone, let alone an iPhone.
