I use Spotify almost every day, whether I’m commuting somewhere, working on an article, or just jamming out to my favorite new songs. One of my favorite things to do on Spotify is find new songs to share with friends. That used to be a lot more difficult, before the company added Prompted Playlists, a new tool that helps you find music based on what you tell AI you’re in the mood for. And now, it looks like Spotify is upgrading this great feature with even more capabilities by letting you search for new podcasts, too.
Prompting for new content has never been easier

Spotify has never been a stranger to throwing new music at you. In fact, the service’s listening algorithm is designed exactly for that. So are the other features that it has come out with over the years, like its fantastic AI DJ, Smart Shuffle option, and the various types of playlists you have like Discover Weekly, and Release Radar. But Prompted Playlists are completely different, because they put you directly in charge of what kind of music you ask for.
It’s a feature that has quickly become a favorite of mine, especially for being able to find new music just to fit a specific mood that I’m in — like if I want energetic tunes to help me focus while I work on something or relaxing vibes while I chill out on the weekend at the pool.
While many of us probably use Spotify for music listening, the platform is also ripe with podcasts that are worth checking out. And according to a Spotify blog post about the latest update for Prompted Playlists, you will finally be able to add podcasts into the mix, which should hopefully make it even easier to find specific new podcasts to fit your current environment and needs.
Spotify claims that more than 34 million podcasts are discovered for the first time each week, and the company has been releasing new features to help people find the best podcasts on the platform. Prompted Playlists latest update feels like a natural addition to this search functionality, as you only need to type in something like “create a podcast playlist featuring the biggest entertainment reveals and news from the past few days, including film, TV, music, and major pop culture news” to get started. The system will then search for new podcasts that align with your prompt, and you can always edit the prompt later if you want to get even more specific
Prompted Playlists are still only rolling out in certain areas

Unfortunately, like many beta features that hit Spotify, Prompted Playlists are still only available in certain areas, including the U.S., Canada, Ireland, the U.K, New Zealand, Sweden, and Australia. As such, you’ll only be able to take advantage of the functionality, as well as its new podcast searching option in those areas.
