It’s never a bad time to clean out your garage. Okay, maybe that’s an oversimplification because doing it in the middle of a snowstorm is not ideal, especially if you need to bring a car out of the garage into the snowstorm. But, for the most part, you can find time to clean out your garage.
But even though you can find the time, it’s never very fun to do. Going through boxes and shelves and anything else that is stored in the garage can be a hassle. Once the garage is organized, life is a lot easier. But getting it into an organized state is the tough part. If you use your garage for projects, you might want to keep it cleaner than if you only store items in it. I frequently use my garage as a staging area for different projects, so I want to keep the floor clean. I don’t even consider using a broom but instead rely on an incredibly affordable handheld device.
A handheld leaf blower pays dividends
It’s ideal for smaller jobs
I’ve had the Pro-Series Mighty Pro Blower for a number of years at this point. It is an affordable, handheld, corded leaf blower that is great for getting rid of dust, leaves, and dirt on my garage floor.
When people think of leaf blowers, they will often think of larger options that are longer and weigh more while packing more blowing power. Some of them even come as a backpack that you can wear as you walk around your yard. These are used for heavier-duty jobs like blowing large amounts of leaves from one part of your yard to another.
I don’t have another handheld leaf blower at my home. My other leaf blower is an industrial push leaf blower that was passed down to me by my grandfather. It is a gas-powered blower with strong blowing power, making it perfect for my yard, as I have many trees that cause leaves to accumulate. Rather than having to rake all my leaves, I can blow them to the street and our town has annual cleanups where they come and pick the leaves up for you.
What I do like to do is use my Mighty Pro Blower for smaller cleanup jobs, such as in my garage. My garage has become my go-to space for doing projects and I need the room to be clean.
What I’ve cleaned up for and how the blower has helped
It takes almost no time to clean with
In recent months, I’ve painted 10 doors in my garage. I’ve had to stand them upright against my shelves and make sure leaves and dirt from the floor didn’t get on the wet paint.
My daughter has an outdoor playhouse that I assembled a mud kitchen for. There were many pieces, so I needed to use the floor to spread out all of them. I normally keep two cars in the garage as well as various odds and ends. It’s a typical garage with random storage, shelves, hooks on the walls for shovels, and more.
My backyard in the fall is beautiful with all the foliage. But once they all fall off the trees, my yard is a barren wasteland of leaves. Luckily, the Mighty Pro Blower can remove them from my deck effectively and push them back onto the grass, where my bigger blower can clean them up.
The Mighty Pro Blower can take care of cleaning the floor in a matter of minutes. While the cord it has is short, I just plug it into an extension cord and I’m able to walk around the room with ease. I start at one end of the garage and start blowing all the debris out of the door.
The best part of the blower, besides how cheap it was, is that it has a trigger lock button. This stops me from having to hold down the trigger and it just blows consistently while the lock is initiated. It’s a nice perk and makes using the machine a lot simpler.
It operates at 110V / 60Hz with 500 Watts of power, blowing 13,000 RPM to clear out the crud. Is it as powerful as my push blower? No. Do I need it to be? No. This produces a powerful gust to get the job done.
It is incredibly easy to hold, as it only weighs three pounds. With the trigger lock and lightweight design, you can point this at the ground with one hand without any issue.
Other places I’ve used my blower
It can handle the elements as well
While it’s incredibly effective for cleaning out my garage, the Mighty Pro Blower can be brought on the road. It is just as effective for cleaning off my deck as it is the garage.
As mentioned, I have a lot of trees in my yard. My backyard in the fall is beautiful with all the foliage. But once they all fall off the trees, my yard is a barren wasteland of leaves. Luckily, the Mighty Pro Blower can remove them from my deck effectively and push them back onto the grass, where my bigger blower can clean them up.
I’ve blown leaves off my driveway before with this as well. Having a small device like this is also great in a workshop if you’re dealing with cleaning up sawdust.
You’re going to want to use this blower outdoors rather than indoors. Being able to direct a stream of air in one direction is great, but blowing something like sawdust indoors might not be what you want. If you do want to use a blower indoors, you might want a smaller blower than this one, which can reach behind machines.
I recently used my blower to dry some of the mats in my car that had gotten spills on them. Rather than attempting to put them in the dryer, using this to dry them was faster and got the mats back in my car and me on my way.
Adding a handheld leaf blower to your tool bench is a smart idea
Since I use my garage as a workshop, having a handheld leaf blower is a great tool. It can clean my floor quickly and the Pro-Series Mighty Pro Blower has been an ideal companion. Being able to clean up my work area in a short amount of time has made having a handheld blower worth having.
