Xbox Insiders Get Three New Features

Microsoft has announced three updates to the Xbox Achievements system, which is currently available to Xbox Insiders. The changes include redesigned notifications for unlocking achievements, a visual indicator for fully completed games, and an option to hide individual games from the Achievement history on a user’s profile. There is no schedule yet for wider rollout.

Redesigned Xbox Achievement Notifications and New 100% Completion Highlighting

The notification that appears when an achievement is unlocked has been visually refreshed. Updated icons and animations now accompany both standard and rare achievement unlocks. Notifications also now reflect the user’s custom accent color. This change is currently available to Xbox Insiders.

Games where a user has earned all available Gamerscore are now highlighted in the Achievements list, making it easier to spot fully completed titles at a glance. Microsoft has also introduced new filter options in the Achievements view to separate fully completed games from other titles, including those marked as hidden. This feature is currently available to Xbox Insiders.

Game Hiding Coming Later This Month

The ability to hide individual games from the achievement history on a profile is the most requested feature in the update, according to Microsoft, but it is not yet live. Microsoft has announced that this feature will be available to Xbox Insiders later in April. Hidden games will not be removed from the Gamerscore totals.

Activity in hidden games will continue to be tracked across Xbox. This change only affects how the profile appears to other users and does not impact the underlying account data. Microsoft has not confirmed when any of the three proposed changes will be rolled out beyond the Xbox Insiders program.
